My daughter interrupts my morning workout for help with her computer.
Her Apple Pen isn’t connecting to her iPad.
She lists the steps she’s taken to try to fix it.
“Did you reboot?”
“That takes too long,” she says. “I can do that after school.”
Except that she uses the Apple Pen for school.
And she has an hour until her next class.
And a quick Google search confirms that the best first step is to reboot.
And it gets me thinking about your Elevator Pitch.
Because the old way of business networking doesn’t connect anymore.
It’s time to reboot.
And I know plenty of Chambers and networking groups that are putting it off.
Waiting for a better time.
But you use networking in your business today.
So plenty of other Chambers and networking groups have rebooted.
It’s harder to do some things, and easier to do others.
The goal is still to get to know people.
And it is possible.
Virtually.
My daughter shuts down her iPad and heads for the door.
“Where are you going?”
She plans to turn it back on later.
That seems dangerous.
She comes back and presses the power button.
It boots right back up and the Apple Pen connects without incident.
