Until he explains it, I have no idea why anyone would actively want a seasonal business.
Yet here I am,
Proud owner of a full time, year round, window cleaning franchise business
Sitting on a panel with two other franchise business owners
Who for very good reasons
Made very different choices.
One’s happy with her home-based business because she’s done commuting.
The other’s happy with his seasonal business because he and his wife go to Florida for the winter.
And it gets me thinking about your Elevator Pitch.
Because it’s easy to think that everyone is interested in what you have to offer.
And they aren’t.
All of us on that panel are very happy.
For very different reasons.
And none of us have any desire to swap businesses.
They’re not one-size-fits-all.
Neither is your service or product.
And you can spend a lot of time and energy trying to convince the wrong people that your product is right for them
Or you can simply focus on attracting the right people.
The people who share your values.
So embrace the details of your work.
The tradeoffs people make to be right for what you have to offer.
Do you work with companies who are grooming executives for international assignments?
Or with solo-preneurs in Witchita.
Either can be profitable, as long as you don’t think you can also effectively serve the other.
When you attract people who share your values
That’s when your business takes off…
Woo Hoo! Interesting observation and I LOVE it! Right on. Suzanne
Thanks Suzanne! I really enjoyed being on that panel.
