The Cop Suggests an Illegal U-Turn

My friend flags down a cop in an obviously bad part of town.

“How do I get out of here?”

She had taken a wrong turn, and it being pre-GPS didn’t know how to safely correct it.

The cop doesn’t hesitate.

“I’ll stop traffic. You take an illegal U-turn right here and head back the way you came.”

Oh the irony! A cop suggests (and supervises) an illegal U-turn.

It’s no fuss. No complicated instructions. Just a clear, immediate shortcut to get back on track.

And it gets me thinking about your Elevator Pitch.

Because you offer shortcuts that your clients don’t know exist.

Shortcuts they can take because you’re there supervising, guiding, and clearing the way.

Notice that the cop doesn’t tell her to go down a few blocks to the light.
He doesn’t suggest turning onto a side street.

He stops traffic so she can quickly get back on track.

Your clients are stuck on a road they don’t recognize, spinning their wheels, and unsure of how to move forward.

What shortcut do you provide?
How do you make it easy for them to turn things around – fast?

Your pitch should show the path forward clearly and confidently. Make it obvious how you can help them, what problem you solve, and the shortcut only you can provide.

My shortcut? Thanks for asking! You get 3 new pitches in 30 minutes when you book a Rapid Pitch Makeover.

Your Turn!

What shortcut do you deliver that consistently saves the day?
